God Gave Humans a 'Special' Brain to Solve All Spiritual and Secular Problems

Do you feel it is true that "spiritual problem can not be solved with secular solutions"?

I feel that too many (perhaps most) Christians in America are often lazy and unconcerned about problems that surround them; spiritual and secular.

Seventy-six percent of the American population professes to be Christians. That is a majority in all areas of American life; including voting.

Christians are expected to be concerned with spiritual problems. Around the world, about 26,500 children die every day from hunger, poverty, and easily preventable diseases and illnesses. This is killing and killing is a spiritual problem. Christians are expected to solve this "sin before God."

American Christians have not done a worthwhile job. American Christians control a large portion of the world's wealth and have not done a worthwhile job of parting with their money. Stopping the killing by eliminating poverty and hunger must be our goal. Quoting scripture alone does not get the job done.

For years Christians have idly watched ineffective and hypocritical politicians fail to do a worthwhile job solving this problem. Unrealistic conservative religious beliefs that encourage suffering throughout America and the world are wrong.

World over population is the number one problem in the world. Yet professing Christians encourage more over-population by condemning condom use and birth control. I feel that the recent $15 billion package to fight AIDS was basically a waste of tax payer's money, because personal religious feelings got involved.

AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) which is caused by unprotected sex. That means that a condom was not used. AIDS is so serious in Africa that the ONLY immediate goal must be to educate every person in Africa to practice safe sex. This is a time when effective sex education and encouragement of condom use is far more important that any personal religious feelings pertaining to sex and condom use.

I personally feel that attaching a global gag rule (religious restrictions) (in any way) on the use of this money is unrealistic, inhuman, hypocritical irresponsible, and contrary to God's Will. Preventing preventable death and suffering by not using the special brain God gave us humans is unthinkable. It must be more important for humans to make God happy, than to take the easy road and hide behind insignificant man-made religious beliefs.

Many conservative Christians are screaming that Mr. Obama is a sinful liberal because he favors doing the logical things that can solve solvable problems of poverty and hunger; rather than argue with human nature. For four thousand years philosophers have written that we can not change human nature.

How do we American Christians know that spiritual problems CANNOT be solved with secular solutions? The problems of poverty and hunger have not been solved with prayers.
We must combine and mix our efforts until an effective solution is found. God gave us a brain and we owe this to our Creator.

Sins, problems, and beliefs must be analyzed in degrees of seriousness. I feel certain my God feels that hunger and poverty (which is killing) is a greater sin than using condoms, controlling birth or masturbating. My God certainly feels that Christians are failing as a worthwhile religious voice when year after year a child unnecessarily dies every 3 seconds because of hunger, poverty, and easily preventable diseases and illnesses.

Governments play a key role in allocating resources and adopting policies that influence the lives of poor and hungry people. Every Christian should use his and her U.S. citizenship and self-empowerment to influence the nation's voice to change government policies to better live for all humans on earth.

Most people know the story of Africa and Iraq using child slaves but what people might not know is that Haiti, the island paradise, has a dark side to this slavery around the world. About 25% of children ages 10 to 14 work without pay. They work as street traders, and for sexual reasons. This must certainly make God very sad. To me this is very disturbing. These children are taken from their families and sold into servitude while thousands of vacationers (maybe Christians) relax and lay in the sun while these kids suffer.

This is a very common sinful situation in so many countries on our beautiful earth.

Wake-up Christian America!

I am a Christian who feels that Christians have a responsibility to help all humans on earth. I enjoy addressing controversial areas that aid in this goal. I am a male age 72, retired Army Sergeant Major, married, living in Stuttgart, German with my family. My son is an American and a commercial pilot with German airline. My completed manuscripts are in need of an agent and publishing. These manuscripts are: "Effective Sex Ed, The New Millennium's Answer to Earth's Cry for Help;" "The Lady is a Killer" (about a female serial killer); "Vietnam Memories Fond" (the lighter side of the war); "The Logical Alternative to Sexual Intercourse"; "Survival: Life 101" (advice for teens); "A Psychopath Smiles, The Devil Grins, Another Girl Vanishes" (the Mafia's international sex slave trade); "Quietly Making a Difference" (review of a 28 year military career); and "Adventures of Ron Huckleberry" (a youth's daily adventures).
